The third edition of the international festival of brandies, liqueurs, and fine spirits, ZGrappa, was held last weekend at the Stil Event venue at the Zagreb Fair, and the impressions are still settling in.

This year’s biggest and most visited edition of the festival gathered more than 80 distilleries from all over the world – from Croatia and Serbia, across Italy, France, and Japan, all the way to distant Costa Rica and Mexico. With such a diverse lineup, ZGrappa once again confirmed its status as the most important spirits festival in the region and further strengthened its international reputation.

Among the distinguished guests was Arete Puro Gin from the small family-owned craft distillery Aristippus Liquors, as proof that a great dream of creating a top-quality gin can indeed become reality.

Over the course of two days, numerous visitors had a unique opportunity to taste a wide variety of products – including our own distinctive gin – discover new trends in the world of distillation and meet the passionate people whose stories stand behind every bottle.

For the Arete Puro brand, this marked the second time participating at ZGrappa. Last year, it was awarded Best Gin by audience choice, and the excitement is already building for what the fourth edition of the festival will bring.

Guided by the belief that true pleasure comes from balance, moderation, and quality, Arete Puro Gin was created as a harmony of tradition and modern distilling craftsmanship. Its preparation involves exceptional attention to detail: hand-picked botanicals such as juniper, coriander seeds, orris root, lemon peel, timut pepper, licorice, and star anise each contribute to its distinctive aroma and flavor profile. The botanicals are macerated in neutral alcohol and then distilled using an electric-powered system – a more sustainable method that consumes up to three times less energy than traditional setups. Finally, the gin is diluted with crystal-clear filtered water to achieve 43% ABV, giving it the perfect balance of strength and smoothness.
